The Challenge
Tell us about yourself and the nature of your work.
I am a programmer at IDC Online with more than 10 years of experience. I am currently in charge of the IT and DT area. I oversee all development and implementation initiatives, ensuring the successful execution of projects. I also manage the creation and formatting of ebooks, using Kotobee Author, as well as their organization within our digital library.
What challenges did you face prior to using Kotobee?
We were struggling to find a tool for creating digital magazines that would mimic the experience of reading traditional paper ones for our readers. We also wanted this tool to provide annotation capabilities, including note-taking and highlighting, to enable our readers to engage with the digital magazine just as they would with paper magazines.
“Without a doubt, the reading tools provided by Kotobee offer a significant advantage to our magazine readers, enhancing their reading experience.”
The Solution
What potential solutions did you explore which didn't work out?
We explored different tools, such as Mazter and Joomag, but they fell short of our requirements. Nothing really met what we were looking for, which is a tool that would have a text-to-speech option as well as enable readers to add notes and highlights while reading our magazines.
How did you hear about Kotobee?
We found Kotobee after searching for digital magazine creator software on Google.
What drove you to choose Kotobee?
Without a doubt, the reading tools provided by Kotobee offer a significant advantage to our magazine readers, enhancing their reading experience. They can now use the text-to-speech option, open the library’s interface in different languages, and highlight important passages within the magazine. They can also take notes, which are securely saved to their accounts, allowing them to access these notes whenever they revisit the magazine.
This feature sets Kotobee apart, as many other tools only store notes in browser cookies, which can result in losing the notes when cookies are cleared. So having our readers’ notes saved and synced with their accounts, even across different devices, is very valuable to us.
“With over 10,000 clients now using our digital magazine tool, we've seen a 60% growth after using Kotobee, compared to the previous tool we were using. It's been a game-changer for us.”
The Results
Is there a specific aspect of your ebook that you are particularly proud of?
The magazine has gained recognition for the way we have structured the information we provide. We have managed to structure our digital magazines in a way that’s very similar to our printed magazines in terms of layout and organization. We’ve also added tables that help our readers do certain financial operations, and through using Kotobee mini-apps, we’ve also added a simple calculator app that readers can use to validate the operations in those tables.
What metrics do you use to measure the success of your project? Has Kotobee affected those metrics in any way?
We have Kotobee Library embedded in our site, allowing us to track the number of users who arrive to it through analytics tools. And with over 10,000 clients now using our digital magazine tool, we've seen a 60% growth compared to the previous tool we were using. It's been a game-changer for us.
The Future
